My Invitation to you

Building this business was terrifying. I’ll be completely honest about that. It isn’t that I am afraid of failure. And it isn’t a lack of confidence either. It is merely that this is like nothing I have ever done before. I am afraid of stepping so far outside the comfort of the life I had built for myself. The life I chose to leave behind.

Truthfully, until this point, I have followed a career plan with clear-cut outcomes, just like I was taught. It was very linear. Heck, I went into non-profit work in developing countries (risky, Allison, you might say), but specialized in measuring impacts of programs in various stages of planning, implementation, and review. I felt I had a sense of CONTROL.

Coaching, and particularly around any sort of intuitive or spiritual content, is not rigid. It isn’t always measurable. It is more subtle-rather an unlearning of negatives.

It is surrender.

In my studies in Somatics, a colleague shared this beautiful poem with our group and it deeply resonated.

AN INVITATION TO A BRAVE SPACE

Together we will create brave space

Because there is no such thing as “safe space” -

We exist in the real world

We all carry scars and we have all caused wounds

In this space

We seek to turn down the volume of the outside world.

We amplifiy voices that fight to be heard elsewhere,

We call each other to more truth and love

We have the right to start somewhere and continue to grow.

We have the responsibility to examine what we think we know.

We will not be perfect.

It’s not always what we wish it to be

But

It will be our brave space together,

And

We will work on it side by side.

By Mickey Scottbey Jones

This is a humble space for growth and healing. One cannot be brave without first being afraid. I invite you to bear witness to my fear. I hope we will find strength therein. Will you join me?
